About the SNSF Eccellenza Professorial Fellowships

An SNSF Eccellenza Professorial Fellowship can only be received once in during a lifetime career. The SNSF uses them to finance outstanding young researches who aspire to a permanent professorship. The five-year funding period comprises salary for the Awardee plus project funds of up to one million Swiss francs for five years. This enables the promising researchers to lead a research project with their own team.

The fellowships are connected with an appointment to the position of assistant professor at the institution chosen by the researchers for their project.
